Bring on the Aggro
Hey everyone, Its Fox here with another top 10 list. Today I want to talk about aggressive cards printed in the last few years, namely ones that came out of the last fews standard sets. This is not an all round top 10 but more my favourites from the last few years. Take care and enjoy the Top 10 best aggro cards.
10. Robber of the Rich
This card makes me hate wizards, then I remember that I need to at least tolerate them so I can play their game. Robber of the Rich is a 2 mana do everything. You steal a card, have haste, and an equal butt. It isn’t closer to the top because of the 2 mana requirement and the lack on continuous card draw but still, It is ridiculous. Keeping your opponents away from cards they may need helps aggro decks in so many ways. Keep on beating down.
9. Knight of the Ebon Legion
I love one mana cards (remembers my terrible article on them) but I should stop writing about them. This card is amazing as it is a 1 mana 1/2 that keeps getting larger and comes with a good pump ability to either take out larger foes or bring others to their knees. Each turn it may grow larger, and larger, until the opponent will be upset they didn’t deal with it sooner.
8. Fanatical Firebrand
Crazy Fire Goblin Monkey go skreeee. This card made me so angry till it rotated out of standard. It is a Mogg Fanatic that can attack immediately. Just looking at it makes my blood boil. Any red deck could use it to finish off a creature or a planeswalker. See the evil monkey, remember his face, it will haunt you forever.
7.Light up the Stage
Yes this card does not deal damage. However it does present so much potential damage and land drops that I cannot ignore it. Imagine getting domed on the head for 4 then them paying 1 red mana to find two more burn spells to smash you next turn. It won’t feel good, you know that for sure. It is pain incarnate.
6.Viashino Pyromancer
Creatures that come with damage make me happy. This card does exactly that. a 2 mana 2/1 brings pain already, now add onto it a shock to your opponent’s dome for added effect. This card is great for all that damage or to close out a game. Beautiful and Fiery.
5. Goblin Chainwhirler
Wizards thought that printing a 3 mana triples red card would make it balanced… In standard with amazing mana, they did not think very hard. 3 mana 3/3 with first strike that brought the pain of the Gods was punishing and it wrecked standard till its rotation. Fear the Chains of Pains
4. Brushfire Elemental
A 2 mana 1/1 with haste and evasion is good enough, but each turn if you play a land it is a 3/3 but wait if that land is a fetch or you have ramp it becomes a 5/5. This card stomps hard and is seeing lots of play in landfall aggro decks along with the number 3 card on this list.
3. Akoum Hellhound
This card is a 1 mana threat that grows just like its original card Steppe Lynx. It brings the pain along with other landfall creatures in the current standard and brings me great joy
2.Soul-scar Mage
Imagine if burn was permanent, well this caused it to be, actually red card that dealt damage was permanent which is amazing against indestructible creatures of all formats or for making blockers really awkward. This card continues to see so much play and is one hell of a bomb on the battlefield.
1.Runaway Steam-kin
Red likes to fling spells and this card allow you to go from no cards on board to an army of angry red dudes. This card use to be paired with Light up the Stage and Experimental Frenzy to create a never ending hoard of enemies. Love it or hate it, it caused standard to become wild and unexpected and is my number 1 pick
