M21: More Uncommon Goodness

Hey everyone, Its me Brandon. I have an amazing update for you all with the release of M21. I have delved through many meta games and Pondered about the meaning of life all to give you this spectacular top 10 of Uncommons and commons in Core Set 2021. Enjoy!

1. Track Down

While its no Once Upon a Time it is definitely an amazing tempo piece almost acting like a Green Ponder but better. I personally run at least 2 in my Green decks to keep tempo in Standard and Historic however anywhere else may be stretch.

2. Griffin Aerie

I love Soul Sisters and this card turns it on so well. 2/2 flyers can end games, hell 1/1 flyers can end games. This card synergizes with Soul Warden and lingering Souls allowing you to control the skies in Modern or using other life gain shenanigans to destroy the opponent in Standard and Historic.

3. Miscast

One thing Blue does well is make us pull our hair out. As I have a beard this is an issue. Now what if i told you that wizards printed an almost spell pierce that costs 1 mana. Well here you go guys, you can cry now.

4. Rain Of Revelation

Now control decks love their 4 mana draw spells at instant speed. Well now we have a draw 3 spell that only needs you to discard 1. This is value, pure and simple. I personally play it in Esper Historic to filter through my deck and load my Yard so I can do control shenanigans like Torrential Gearhulk. What is your opinion on this card.

5. Eliminate

This set is full of crazy spells, for a Core Set it makes me really impressed. 2 mana black spell that removes majority of problem planeswalkers such as Liliana of the Veil and Wrenn and Six makes this a staple in all decks from Legacy to Standard and everything in between. I think it will see lots of play.

6. Village Rites

Village Rites makes so many cards obsolete such as Altar’s Reap. 1 mana makes this a bomb in any sacrifice deck and even a crazy trick while blocking. I can see this being played in any format that has a deck that enjoys killing creatures. Return to the Ranks in Modern and Pioneer or even Soul Sisters splashing black for card draw. My Orzhov Heart loves this card so much.

7. Unleash Fury

Why is this card on here? Well, honestly cause the name sounds cool. Though it doubles stuff so someone will break it sooner or later. Can you break it? Fling? or maybe Electrostatic Pummeler? Lets see what we can brew up.

8. Garruk’s Uprising

OK, this set has a few cards that are just strict upgrades of other cards already printed. This card is an upgrade of Elemental Bond. Draw cards and give Trample? Yes Please I love this card so much

9. Conclave Mentor

Hardened Scales on a creatures that gains life when it dies? This is a dream I swear. Counters is now a deck in Standard and perhaps in Modern as well with synergies like The Ozolith. Get ready for a resurgence of fair decks.

10. Teferi’s Tutelage

So Psychic Corrosion and looting had a baby that mill decks are in love with. Slam this baby down and draw your opponent out of existence as it triggers as soon as it comes out. Welcome to Mill Town population you, me, and Hedron Crab Hell Yeah!
